The Buffalo Sabres announced the team will hold its annual Military Appreciation Game on Friday, Nov. 11 against the New Jersey Devils at KeyBank Center. The annual event will be dedicated to honoring both current and former members of our nation’s armed forces and will feature several tributes throughout the night.

As a salute to the military, Sabres players will wear special camouflage jerseys during warm-ups. The jerseys will be auctioned on from Nov. 11 following the game to Nov. 20 at 9 p.m., and proceeds will benefit the Buffalo Sabres Foundation.

In honor of Military Appreciation Night, the Sabres will offer all active, reserve, National Guard and retired military personnel the opportunity to purchase tickets in the 300 Level for $25. In addition to Military Appreciation Night, the Sabres are continuing two programs throughout the 2016-17 season to honor local military members. This Veterans Day, a slew of restaurants and grocery stores have some special freebies to share with veterans and active duty military. You’ll just need to show proper military ID to partake.

Caputi’s Sheridan Pub, 2351 Sheridan Drive in Town of Tonawanda. The pub offers a full, free buffet from noon to 2 p.m on Veterans Day. for any active duty military or veteran. Accompanying civilians can dine for $6.99. Caputi’s doesn’t just offer the Veterans buffet on Veterans Day. It’s also available free on the second Thursday of every month. Wegmans. The grocery store is offering veterans a complimentary breakfast bar from 8 a.m. to 11 a.m. on Veterans Day in its Market Café. It includes an assortment of hot foods, coffee, juice and fruit. Present your military ID at the counter.

Applebees. Veterans and active duty military can select a free entrée from a limited menu during normal business hours Friday. The entrees include Butcher’s Meat and Potatoes, Oriental Chicken Salad, Fiesta Lime Chicken, Chicken Tenders Platter, Double Crunch Shrimp, Three-Cheese Chicken Penne and American Standard All-In Burger.

TGI Fridays. Participating locations will serve veterans a free lunch entrée from 11 a.m. to 2 p.m. Friday. Veterans can choose from a limited menu that includes the Classic Cheeseburger, Mediterranean Mahi Mahi Naan’wich, California Chicken Club. The free menu also includes Friday’s fast, fresh lunch pairings with the choice of one appetizer such as Turkey Kale Soup or Caesar Salad paired with entrees such as the Chipotle Yucatan Chicken Salad or Jack Sliders.

Rainforest Café inside Sheraton at the Falls, 300 Third St. in Niagara Falls. Veterans and active duty military will receive a free entrée Friday. Accompanying children will receive a free game card to the arcade. Veterans, active duty military and their guests will receive 25 percent off their entire bill for the month of November. Starbucks. All active duty military, veterans and their spouses will receive a free tall (12-ounce) hot brewed coffee Friday.

Red Robin, 4080 Maple Road in Amherst and 3460 Amelia Drive in Orchard Park. All veterans and active duty military will receive a free Red’s Tavern Double Burger with Bottomless Steak Fries on Friday.

Bob Evans. At any time of the day Friday, veterans and active duty military can order a free breakfast.

Tops Markets. The grocery store will offer military personnel, veterans and their immediate families an 11 percent discount off their grocery bill Friday. Family members must reside in the same household as the veteran.

Denny’s. Participating locations are giving away Build Your Own Grand Slams, from 5 a.m. to noon Friday. They include four items of your choice, such as pancakes, eggs, bacon, fruit or hash browns.

Chili’s. Active duty military and veterans can choose a free entrée from a special menu that includes and Oldtimer with Cheese, Chicken Crispers, Soup & Salad or Margherita Flatbread.

Bed Bath and Beyond. Veterans, active duty, Reserves, Guard and spouses get 25% off their entire purchase November 10 through 13.

Home Depot. Home Depot offers a 10% discount to all veterans on November 11. Home Depot offers the 10% discount year round to for active duty and retirees.

Under Armour. Active duty, retirees and veterans get 15% off on all orders through November 12.
